TJ Virgin

16 Jul

Yes I am a Trader Joe’s virgin.  I will fix that today!  I’ve got an interview today that’s about 45 mins away and there is a TJ’s up there!  Mike and I are trying to move a bit up north because his office is moving up there so he’s going to have to make that drive eventually.  For the salary he makes it’s worth it, for the salary i’m about to apply for…not so much.  I’m really  not sure how much they’ll offer?  I’m pretty positive it’s not what I was making.  I’ll let you know what I decide!

Here is another thing I did for the first time yesterday:

INDIANA GREEN BEANS!

INDIANA GREEN BEANS!

Um and yes…I weigh everything before I eat it.  I have never made green beans before.  Thanks to Angela for her help!  They turned out so good and even Mike like them!  He’ll eat broccoli with cheese and salads but not many green veggies.  He told me they tasted like french fries?  I didn’t even use oil I just used Pam LOL!  They were tasty and I can’t wait for lunch so I can eat more.  There is a farm right up the road so i’ll be stocking up this weekend!  It was fun breaking the beans, the smell reminded me of being little and doing that on my grandpa’s farm.

Okay, I need to start getting ready for Trader Joe’s  my interview.  I’m wearing “the” interview dress.  I may take a pic if I remember.  For the last 12 years at my last job I was in a uniform all day.  Then of course came home and put on comfy clothes so the professional attire isn’t quite there.  I have some cute summer dresses from cruising and fancier dresses for parties but I do have “the one” that I can wear on an interview :)

About April

You name it, i've tried it. I finally found what I needed though. www.dreambodies.net. I started losing weight and seeing things i've never seen. I then started competing and I really do love it! Now i'm searching for a balance. I don't want the 10-15 lb in a day weight gain. I'm trying to become a "healthy" eater and not refraining from enjoying myself.

Good luck with your interview. I had the same problem with clothes when I went from a warehouse job to a office job.

I found green beans that looked so good yesterday but I did not get them because I am not sure how to make them. How are you cooking them. The only green beans I have ever had were from a can or frozen.

I boiled them for 5 mins, then put them in a sautee pan with pam for around 8 mins maybe…until they started turning brown. If you use olive oil I bet they would be even better!!

UGH, I wish we had a Trader Joe’s or Whole Foods. Don’t get me wrong, I love my little place but it doesn’t carry everythign. I would be in heaven in Trader Joes.

Oh and the french fries… I hear him on that! I bake asparagus in the oven with nothing but butter flavored pam and I think they are like french fries every time!!!
    Mike is not crazy.

Good luck on the interview. Keep us posted.

GOOD LUCK with the interview! Have fun at Trader Joes. I went there during Phat Camp but that was like 3 years ago and I knew very little about healthy food. I was winging it then. And I was poor so I thought everything was priced WICKED HIGH!

Okay, so where did you get the Naturally More Almond Butter? I am soooooo jealous. The peanut butter kind is my absolute favorite peanut butter. So I am dying to try the almond version. Seriously, I NEED IT!

How many calories are in those blueberries? That is a tiny serving. I eat probably double that each morning but it isnt very many calories. I weigh it in grams or sometimes just grab a handful. Are you just trying to watch the carbs or calories? Or both?

    Sorry, lots of questions! :)

The almond butter was sent to me by Naturally More :)

I’m sure of the cals?? My diet is super strict right now so I only get 1/4 a day…I cheated though and had another handful in my PWO shake ;)

Right now i’m carb and cal cycling to see if I can knock off some flub!

    OK:

    1. How did you score the Naturally More to just send you the whole jar of butter?

    2. The 2/3 cup of blueberries=48 cals and 11g of carbs :P

    3. I am not wishing you good luck with your interview. I KNOW you don’t want to go to work just yet! ;) hehe

My dad grows green beans (and everything else) nearly every year. If you want any you ought to drive down and we’ll all pick’em. He’ll (we will too actually) have corn and tomatoes out the a$$ too. Come help yourselves this summer.

I can’t believe you’ve never had green beans before! I always buy them frozen and throw them in the microwave and add sea salt, pepper, garlic powder and onion powder…YUMMMY.

Hope your interview went well! Can’t wait to hear how you fared at TJ’s! Wish I had one here, I her such great things about it!
