Last November Day

So I was telling my mom what Mike’s mom said about having 2 inlaws flying  on Lifeline.  She informed me that I actually flat lined 3 times.  Once in the ambulance on the way to the hospital, once in Lifeline for 1 min, then once on the operating table.  How cool!  What if in the helicoptor they stopped at 57 secs??  Hmmm…i’m here for a reason but not sure what that is yet.  She also told me about when she went to the chapel at the hospital and prayed for God to give her a sign that she would be alright.  When she went outside that day there was a double rainbow.  My mom can’t talk about it without crying.  I guess she really does love me hee hee.

 

I’m going walking with my bud today.  I did my 60 mins this morning so now i’ll get in another 60.  Hopefully the scale will drop tomorrow, it only dropped .2 lbs last night :D   I know I can’t expect a loss everyday considering i’m already small.

 

The other day I froze 1/3 cup of pumpkin.  Then I added some almond milk, stevia and pumpkin pie spice.  It was like pumpkin ice cream!!!  Last night I added some whey powder, chia seeds and ice.  Now I can’t wait for it every night!

 

I’m rambling on about nothing but oh well.

 

I should be receiving some exciting stuff in the mail soon…I can’t wait!  Of course i’ll post the reviews for you.  Maybe my shoes will arrive too!  No review there.  Brooks Adrenaline GTS-9, I’ve had the 7′s and 8′s and I LOVE them!  Sorry Asics GT-2140 or whatever you were that gave me blisters.  I’ll never be without my Brooks again.

Thanksgiving Take 2

Yesterday we traveled up north to visit Mike’s family.  I did NOT want another big dinner so I came packing.  I packed enough food for an army because I wasn’t sure when I’d get home :D   When I first started this competition thing I felt deprived.  Sometimes almost in tears because people were eating the goodies and I wasn’t.  Now it’s no big deal.  I realize i’m NOT missing out.  My body likes my good food.

We all went and saw The Blind Side last night.  I highly recommend this movie.  It was very good.

If you’ll remember a couple of months ago my BIL Bob was in a motorcycle accident.  We weren’t sure if he’d pull through or not.  He’s doing very well.  He still has some healing to do brain wise but he’s doing much better.  Mike’s mom made a comment…How many people can say that they have 2 in laws that have flown on LifeLine.  That is the helicoptor at Methodist in Indy.  Bob and I were comparing accidents.  His scar down his back is bigger than mine but I flat lined twice so I win :D

See that bandaid on my sister’s hand?  I went up to my aunt with my booboo lip out and said that I wanted a Snoopy band aid.  I told you all I was am a spoiled brat.  Of course she went and got one for me LOL!  My Aunt never had kids of her own so she spoiled Rachel and I.

So I have a mini challenge with myself to be 113 by Christmas.  I was close to being there before Thanksgiving…darn blackberry pie.  Here are a few things I will do to reach that goal.  My trainer wants me 115-117 but I want to be smaller. 

  • M-F 60 mins of cardio before breakfast
  • 6L of water
  • Follow meal plan
  • Use my cheat meal each week
  • Increase the weight in my workout

I don’t consider cardio a chore.  I actually LOVE doing it right when I wake up.  It makes me feel better the rest of the day.  Just for clarification my trainer is NOT asking me to do that much cardio.  I just want to get this post show and Thanksgiving bloat off and then i’ll cut back…a couple minutes ;)

Fight off the fat Friday

Did you feast or famine?  I’ll give you a clue to what I did.

Classic caveman style

I’m sorry to disappoint but I only gained 3.4 lbs.  I was really shooting for the 5 lber but it didn’t happen.  Maybe a 3rd piece of blackberry pie was in order?  It was a great day with my family.  This year the turkey was the best it’s ever been.  My cousin by marriage made it.  She can really cook.  Wanna know what’s better than that?  She’s a twin so now there are 2 cooks in the fam!  I asked her what her secret was…shouldn’t have done that.  Butter under the skin.  Oh my mind went biserk but that didn’t stop me from chowing on dessert.  Have I mentioned I have issues? 

 

This morning I woke up and hopped on the treadmill…of course.  I did a 5 mins warmup @ 3.5 followed by this:

Then I still wanted more so I did this 20 minute add on routine that I found in Oxygen.

After that I walked @ 4.0, 6% incline until minute 57 where I put the incline to zero and walked at 3.5.  My face is still beat red WOO! 

 

Today I won’t be doing much.  I’m not a shopper on black Friday although I did just order some Brooks Adrenaline GTS 9′s off of Amazon ;)

3 Things Turkey Day

  1. Why don’t my abs look good flabby like Britney Spears?
  2. 90 minutes of cardio completed this morning.  I’ve always wondered what happened after burning 999 cals…it just goes to zero.
  3. Did I really just bake all that stuff 2 weeks ago and not lick a thing?  I amaze myself.

Are there people that when they are on TV you just can’t change the channel?  For me it’s Beyonce, Britney Spears, Bush(aka Gavin),  Maddona and the newest one…Lady Gaga.  Yes, I admit it.  Now that I know her story I really like her.

Gain 5 lbs instantly by looking at this post!

This morning I got up and did 50 mins of cardio.  Then I thought I would go to Kohl’s at 7a when it opened before breakfast but I got kinda hungry.  Insert the gotta go shopping before all the other yahoos get out breakfast.

Yes, I totally measured out the cereal.  You’ll see why that is funny later.

  • 1 cup of Kashi Strawberry Fields
  • 1 low carb EAS shake
  • 1/2 scoop chia seeds

 

I went on the dessert frenzy!  My favorite food group :D

One of my blogger peeves is when people say I may or may have not eaten…..

No may or may not...I FREAKIN DID!

Boomer and I went to the “puppy store” aka PetSmart today.  Her tail wagged the entire time.  She got a bath last night…a much needed one.

I feels clean!

Question for all you black lab or mixed lab owners.  Does this happen in your kitchen EVERY day?

I talked with Tony yesterday.  He wants my weight right now between 115-117…easy peasy.  I’m still shooting for 113.

Goody Goody Gumdrops!

Hey peeps!  It’s almost Turkey Day!  Here’s a list of what i’m making:

 

I can’t wait!  I’m gonna start this afternoon.  Mike LOVES the Scotcheroos and butter cakes.  Thanks to Angela for getting him hooked.  Now that I know what is in them I won’t be partaking ;)   The Rolos things are super easy and unfortunately I won’t be using my Oh Nuts baked Pecans…since they are gone!  I’ve got the loaf of Hawaiian Bread ready for the bacon dip :D

 

I just had a pumpkin latte..April style.  Except I used brewed coffee and a smidge of half and half. 

I ordered the LARGE cappicino...HELLO!!!

What movie is that from??  Anyone??  Another favorite of mine!

 

I had an awesome workout this morning!  The groin is getting better although I won’t be trying to sprint anytime soon.  I did THIS workout this morning.  I actually slept until 7a!  I am always up by 6a at least so I must have been tired.  I’m telling you it’s from waking up at midnight to eat cereal although I haven’t done that in a few days HA!

I’m gonna work the legs later.  My legs are still sore from last weeks workout.  I think Tony is trying to kill me!!!

 

My weight this morning was 117.2.  I’m sure it’s a good weight for me but i’m still working towards 113.  I’ll get there by Christmas if it kills me!

Hers Still Got It

Boomer and I went on a 4 mile walk this morning.  She’s getting older but she can still keep up :D   It was nice going out early.  This way I don’t need to put her leash on.  I figured since we were up 2 nights ago eating cereal and PB and then up last night eating cookies that we both needed a nice long walk.

Since I just looked at the Newman’s Own Organic website I remembered the chocolate bar that was in the freezer for me.  Mike ate the rest of them except for the dark chocolate espresso.  Mmm….just had a block ;)

 

I had lunch with an old work buddy this afternoon.  I miss him.  It was fun and we caught back up on each others life.  We went to Smokey Bones and although I wanted some bbq I got a salad with chicken and avocado, vinegarette on the side.  I came home and pop 2 Oh nuts almonds in my mouth HA!  Saving calories for the good stuff.  Before lunch I went to the local health food store and got a couple of Kombuchas.  They are expired 11/23 so they were on sale.  That’s my tip for the day!  Look for ones getting ready to expire and they are cheaper.  Of course this is Indiana so i’m sure not everyone buys these.  They go straight to the liquor store and get some beer…or vodka.

Time to sit on the couch for a bit and watch some  old school BMX movie.

 

What is your favorite old school movie?  I have many.  She Devil, Mannequin, Clue and The Incredible Shrinking Woman.  I could go on for days with silly old movies.

Oh Nuts!

I’m not talking about my pulled groin.  That’s getting a bit better.  I’m up to 6.5 mph now :D   I’m talking about Oh Nuts!  These will not help me make my Thanksgiving goal weight is all i’m saying.  These little boogers are might tasty!  I tried the cocoa and toffee almonds plus the honey baked pecans.  The pecans would be SO yummy in a pie.  I’m going to use them on my Rolos.

Today the cute UPS man brought my beloved Metrx shakes.  I have missed those.  I followed it with this:

The pecans are to die for but I think my fave are the toffee almonds.  What, me choosing toffee over chocolate?  It’s a tough decision really.

 

Once thing I love about not being as strict diet wise is the little extras.  Check out my dinner….I’s hungry.

It’s also nice not having to pack a meal just in case your timing is a little off.

Breakfast in a Jif

Literally….

I promise there was only 1 Tbsp or so left.  I gave Boomer some too so I wouldn’t eat more than allowed.  I also put some cocoa powder in the bottom before pouring in the oats.  CAUTION Make sure the powder is mixed before inhaling.  I totally choked a bit.

 

I was down 2.6 lbs this morning and feeling much better.  I still have about 5 more that I want to lose before Thanksgiving.  REMEMBER this IS possible because most of my weight right now is water and sodium bloat.  This is NOT normally something that is reasonable.

 

Mike and I are loving V!  Are you?

 

I am so happy about the winner of ANTM!!  Actually I didn’t really have a favorite out of the two.  I won’t mention the winner since some of you may have not watched it yet.  I had been rooting for Nicole because she is a redhead BUT Laura is so stinkin cute and sweet.  This season was so much fun I think.  Short girls aren’t as mean and serious.

Plain Jane No More

I want to thank Nick from Kaia Foods for allowing me to sample some of their product.  My salads are no longer boring! 

Now that I can dig into goodies again I was so excited to try these.  So excited that the cocoa mole sunflower seeds are already gone ;)   I put the garlic and sea salt on Mike’s salad last night and he called it a fancy salad.  I tried the curry…YUM!  I also sampled all three of the granola and those are to die for also.  I’m giving them to my mom though because granola in my house is dangerous and I don’t need to gain anymore weight.  We still need to try the teriyaki seeds but I know they will be delicious!  So no more boring salads for me :D

 

All products are organic and made with whole ingredients.

Weigh In Wednesday

I didn’t want to do this but it HAS to be done.  It’s the only way i’ll really start sticking to my program 100%.  I am NOT one who fakes that there is no need to weigh yourself.  If I don’t then a month from now i’ll wonder how the heck I gained 20 lbs.  There is a simple solution.  Weigh once a week on the same day and make sure your weight is in check.  This is a much better solution than not weighing and then stepping on the scale and seeing a number that shocks the crap out of you.  I still eat what my body needs but if the number creeps up I cut back on little things.

 

I’ve got my new plan from Tony.  Now I just need to stick to it.  I need to cut out the nut butters like NOW.  I do have them on this plan BUT I know myself so I will be getting the 100 cal pks of almonds and using those instead.

 

I was looking at pictures of the other bikini girls in my class and I can honestly say that I DID NOT deserve last place.  I’m not saying Ideserved top 5 or 10 for that matter but NOT last.  Maybe 15th or so.  Again I know I need to work on my sass and maybe be a bit darker.

 

Oh yeah, the number on the scale….119!  That’s 11 lbs.  I was 108 maybe a bit lighter on stage.  I’m glad I saw that number this morning.  It’s game on now.  I want to maintain at 115.  I hate the word maintain.  That makes it seem like i’m not trying to change or get better.  I’m always striving to get better.  I would LOVE to stay 110 all the time but lets not get carried away.

So you all hold me accountable.  I HAVE to clean up this diet.  I’m always ON when I know I have a show coming up.  I need to be like that again.  So far so good today.  I did meet a friend at Starbucks and had a tall skinny pumpkin spice latte.  I have been craving one of those for the longest time.  I will not eat 1/2 a cup of peanut butter today :D

It’s Got To Be Someone

Someone has to finish last and that was me :D   I got dead last.  Out of 19 girls.  I’m not really upset by it either.  I felt I looked good and held my own among the youngsters.  I also have to remember that this was a HUGE show and girls were out for blood.  If you placed in the top 5 you qualify for the National level which is what most of these girls strive for.  I just need more confidence and sass on stage.

 

So I picked Angela up at 9:30a Friday.  It was so good to see her!  Then we headed back towards Greenwood and hit the Nature’s Pharm and CVS.  She had never had maple nut goodies and they sounded good to me.  We drove to Kentucky and checked into our hotel room.  Friday seemed like it took forever!  I ate my dry chicken without drinking water and watched Angela get to eat.  She even got PB!  LOL!  Friday night we had a meeting and then started tanning.  That is the suckiest part.  I hate that tanner.  You really never know if it’s going to go on well or not.  We fall asleep and then wake up for the big day!

 

That morning we put some more coats of tanner on.  We get our makeup on and fix our hair.  I did a last minute suit change decision.  I was so dehydrated and tired.  I couldn’t sleep that night.  We made sure our heater wasn’t up to high so that our tanner wouldn’t sweat off.  Stacey and Tina, did ya catch that?  Got our crap packed up and headed to the venue.  Walking over there took FOREVER!  It was like we were in a hamster tube walking across the streets of Louisville.  The girls were all real nice and it wasn’t tense at all.  Some of the girls were VERY serious though.  I guess if you are a competitive person you should be.  We also met Genie in the hamster wheel!  Genie you are so adorable!  She has that sweet suthern ackcent.  Her butt was the size of 1 of my butt cheeks.  I gave her some of our treats to enjoy and she told me she did ;)  

 

I got up on stage and it felt good.  We didn’t get to walk or anything just take 2 steps forward, hit 2 poses and get back in line.  That was fine with me.  Did I mention how tired I was?  So we got done with prejudging and it was back through the hamster wheel to the hotel where we took naps.  When it was time to get up I would have rather just slept than go back.  We were in for a long night.  There were 200 competitiors.  To make a long story short we got back on stage and did it all again.  The girl to my left won overall.  I was happy for her.  She was a sweet girl.  Finally…time to go back to the room, shower and eat! 

 

I immediately hopped in the shower.  Yes, I chose that over eating.  After the shower I ate some PB&J, blue chips, guacamole, salsa, Stacey’s Pita Chips, and dessertS.  Angela brought some ooey gooey butter cakes and they were SO yummy!  I just found a recipe online and i’m going to make them for Thanksgiving.  Now that i know what’s in them though I will never eat them again LOL!  We also had some Hawaiian Bread rolls!  I had PB&J on mine.  We were feeling sick and went to bed.   I was up at 5:30a like clockwork though.

 

We got our stuff packed up and headed back north.  On the way home we hit Cracker Barrel.  I got egg beaters and oatmeal.  We split pecan pancakes.  OMG, those are SO good!  Then we went to the Russel Stover’s outlet.  It wasn’t open.  We went to Walmart and Angela picked up some more hawaiian rolls to take back home to her hubs.  I knew she’d like them.  So headed back to the outlet and they had samples here and there.  Some were sugar free though and I WILL NOT eat those.  I am also the person who bites the truffle and doesn’t like what’s inside and puts it back.  Most of mine went in the trash.  Then we head to the Taylorsville outlet.  I wanted her to see the Harry and David outlet.  We went in there and the lady says would you like a sample.  Just out of habit I said no, then thought YeS!  Whatever it was was so good.  We then MADE ourselves go to the Rocky Mountain Chocolate Factory.  Yes, we had to twist each others arms.  I got an iced cappicino truffle and Angela got a bear claw pretzels rod and a bear claw carmel apple.  They were SO good! 

Time for lunch.  Angela was craving a burger.  We stopped at Steak and Shake.  She doesn’t have these where she lives.  Burger satisfaction complete.  I had a piece of chicken and baked beans (bean crock).  Then we headed back to the airport.  I was so sad to see her leave.  I could have cried.  It was at that moment that I remembered what this weekend was really about.

Death By Peanut Butter

While dieting for a bikini competition there are many things you crave and want to devour after the show.  I didn’t want pizza, burritos, or spaghetti I wanted a good ol PB & J with some blue chips on the side.  I got a jar of sugar free blueberry jelly and used the Jungle Banana peanut butter.  OMG!  This stuff was terrific!  Angela and I opened the jar on Friday night and kept smelling it and couldn’t wait to dig in.  I had PB&J Saturday for dinner AND Sunday for dinner :)   Mike told me to save him some so he could try it.  He better act fast.

Milk, milk

Lemonade, round the corner fudge is made.  Am I the only dork that remembers that?  I was also watching Mr. Rogers this morning.  Certain things just bring on this warm fuzzy feeling about being a kid and that’s one of them.  I also drove to Walmart was about to turn the car off and realized I was listening to the gayest song.  Do you ever do that?  Just think, what the heck did I listen to that for?

So anyways, I can’t wait to see Angela tomorrow!  We are going to have so much fun slapping tanner on our naked butts HA!  Today I made Hungry Girl Fudge which is what made me thing of that silly saying.  I used 2 T of PB and mix in with the batter before baking.   I also made the oat balls!  Stacey and Tina I wish you were there to enjoy them with us!  I’m licking another bowl of oats clean as I type.  I’m talented like that.

This prep has been relaxing actually.  Since my groin didn’t allow me to cardio myself to death I feel good.  I don’t feel as lean as I should BUT I haven’t dropped water yet and i’m eating a tremendous amount of carbs.  So we’ll see what happens Saturday.  I know one thing, to get my leg LEAN I need sprints!

 Mike said the Scotcheroos were a hit!  I can’t wait to try one…or two;)

Betty Crocker is in Da Hizouse!

My tank is now on F.  I just got finished with my second BIG bowl of oats.  I love that everytime I eat a carb now my body feels like i’ve taken fat burners.  Food as an all natural fat burner…oh yeah.

 

So today I got to bake.  YIPPEE!  Well, there wasn’t much baking involved but it was still fun.  The house smells SO good.  No spoons were licked although i’m making this stuff again so that I can lick them.  Boomer enjoyed some Jumbo Rice Krispies with peanut butter on them :)

I made 34…since that’s my age.  I was only gonna make like 10 and then Angela and I could split them BUT I know Mike will want some.  Plus if I remember correctly my friend Louisa  Rolos as much as I  oatmeal!

 

I ventured to Target of course and got Angela’s guacamole she’s been craving.
