Thanksgiving Take 2

29 Nov

Yesterday we traveled up north to visit Mike’s family.  I did NOT want another big dinner so I came packing.  I packed enough food for an army because I wasn’t sure when I’d get home :D   When I first started this competition thing I felt deprived.  Sometimes almost in tears because people were eating the goodies and I wasn’t.  Now it’s no big deal.  I realize i’m NOT missing out.  My body likes my good food.

We all went and saw The Blind Side last night.  I highly recommend this movie.  It was very good.

If you’ll remember a couple of months ago my BIL Bob was in a motorcycle accident.  We weren’t sure if he’d pull through or not.  He’s doing very well.  He still has some healing to do brain wise but he’s doing much better.  Mike’s mom made a comment…How many people can say that they have 2 in laws that have flown on LifeLine.  That is the helicoptor at Methodist in Indy.  Bob and I were comparing accidents.  His scar down his back is bigger than mine but I flat lined twice so I win :D

Haley that is a picture of my mommy, and sissy :D   I love them.

See that bandaid on my sister’s hand?  I went up to my aunt with my booboo lip out and said that I wanted a Snoopy band aid.  I told you all I was am a spoiled brat.  Of course she went and got one for me LOL!  My Aunt never had kids of her own so she spoiled Rachel and I.

So I have a mini challenge with myself to be 113 by Christmas.  I was close to being there before Thanksgiving…darn blackberry pie.  Here are a few things I will do to reach that goal.  My trainer wants me 115-117 but I want to be smaller.

  • M-F 60 mins of cardio before breakfast
  • 6L of water
  • Follow meal plan
  • Use my cheat meal each week
  • Increase the weight in my workout

I don’t consider cardio a chore.  I actually LOVE doing it right when I wake up.  It makes me feel better the rest of the day.  Just for clarification my trainer is NOT asking me to do that much cardio.  I just want to get this post show and Thanksgiving bloat off and then i’ll cut back…a couple minutes ;)

About April

You name it, i've tried it. I finally found what I needed though. www.dreambodies.net. I started losing weight and seeing things i've never seen. I then started competing and I really do love it! Now i'm searching for a balance. I don't want the 10-15 lb in a day weight gain. I'm trying to become a "healthy" eater and not refraining from enjoying myself.

Yeah I totally must have missed the story about you being on life support and flatl lining, breaking every bone in your body, and then Jes told me about it!! Where is that post?
What a miracle. So glad you are here, healthy and still beautiful to live to tell about it. :)

Girl, what the heck is the story? Did I miss that somewhere?

Is it better to do cardio on an empty stomach?

I was ran over by a car when I was 5.

I like it because food makes me slow. Plus I get it over with early and don’t talk myself out of it.

I am tempted to do my cardio/workouts first thing in the morning. I hate the days when I don’t get my workouts in before lunch, because then it’s just NOT GONNA HAPPEN. What time do you get up?

What a pretty group of gals! I hear you on the cardio! I like doing it for the most part, and I don’t see it as a bad thing, especially first thing in the morning. It wakes me up!

    Hi April.
I am starting a blog and like this theme. The problem is that I cannot have both the blogroll and the calendar. If I add the calendar to links, I lose the blogroll, and then blogroll is not an option for me to link. How did you get bother. And how did you get tabs on the top header? Thanks.

I wish I was more like you. I can NEVER get out of bed at 530. Like, I would rather cry. :) I am going to start making it a HABIT like you though and do cardio first thing in the am. It opens up your day more, that way I can spend more time with my husband vs the treadmill during this prep.

I do work until 11p so that is why I dont like to get up so early.

You look really pretty in that pic.

Once you get used to it you don’t mind it so much. I remember when I first started I would dread it. Now I crave cardio…weird I know. I am an early person so that helps i’m sure.

The first prep is the hardest for sure. You don’t really know what your body is going to do. After that it’s sort of fun.

That is a GREAT pic of you all! Your momma is beautiful! :)

Ahhh…to be 113 again! I haven’t been THAT small since my sr. year in college! It was a bit too tiny for me though. I’ll take 118 anyday of the week! I’ll get there…
