Reason 1 why i’m not a food blogger

Hey Everybody!  I took a break from the computer yesterday and it was nice.  By 9:30a I had already been to Target, got my haircut, and then to Kroger.  I was a busy lady.  I came home and was going to have some protein pancakes but forgot to put my protein powder in it.  I hate when my brain isn’t thinking right.  That happens alot.

.

I had a KICK YO BUTT cardio.  Wow.  Can you tell?

Thanks Cathe!

.

After this it was red meat day.  I’m not a big red meat eater but Laura’s Lean 4% beef is alright.  I should have made it into a burger rather than chopping it up.  You know what happened when I tried to eat this like a burger ;)

Lettuce “bun” burger.  I put tomatoes, avocado, ketchup, mustard and I believe that is all on there.  I also made some sweet potato chips with my mandoline.  Love that thing!

Isn’t that so beautiful?  This is reason 1. why i’ll never be a food blogger.  I’m also not about to join the cool kid camera band wagon.  Chia seeds are cheap and make oatmeal fun.

.

Stay tuned…tomorrow I think i’ll be doing a giveaway!

Fuh-fuh-fuhreezing!

I really like getting my weights done with before noon.  I feel like I have the whole entire day left to do whatever.  So I did a HEAVY back workout followed by another sweaty cardio session.  I was on fire but I got my warm clothes on and walked Boomer.  Note to self:  no matter how hot you are remember it’s 10 degrees outside and wear your ear warmers.

When I got back home I made myself a nice hot protein drink.  This is TOP SECRET but I will let you in on it next week.  There WILL be a giveaway involved ;)

So yummy!

.

Therese had a great post today about meal planning.  I don’t plan my meals.  I have a piece of paper on my fridge with exactly what i’m to eat everyday.  For me it works.  I love not having to think about it.  I do cook other things for Mike but he’s pretty easy going.   So knowing that….WHY DID I RUN OUT OF SWEET POTATOES?  Ugh…the only other good carb I have is rice and I don’t feel like rice today.  So insert Dr. Kracker.  Remember when I said I was going to give a review like forever ago?  I will make this one short and sweet.  They are AWESOME!  My favorite is the pumpkin cheddar.  I got to sample eat flavor.  A close second was the roasted red pepper…spicy!  Maybe not the ideal carb but it’ll work.  You can get these at Target.

.

Here’s my tummy this morning..not much difference after the poo juice.

You can see where I carry my chub…around the hips.  Hey body, you are NOT having kids.  No need to protect yourself.  120 in the above picture.

109 in this picture.  No i’m not sucking in.  I have the unfortunate curse of rib cage that doesn’t hold fat making me look malnourished.

Here’s to all the people with a lower pooch!  I’ve seen fat girls with flat stomachs.  I mean that in the nicest way possible.

.

Enjoy your Friday!!!

Perfect Foods Bar YUM!

Do you remember how much I liked the Perfect Foods Bar?  http://redhead75.wordpress.com/2009/12/20/look-alikes/

Now Kelly is giving some away!  I want to win them!  You can enter if you want ;)

——————————————————————————————–

I’m feeling good today.  Stomach is not bloated at all.  The day isn’t over I always say.  I got up and did 45 mins on the tready and it felt good.  I haven’t exercised in 2 days.  I have a back workout this afternoon and the Sears guy is coming to repair a rattle underneath my treadmill.  Thank goodness I bought that warranty.  I will NEVER NOT buy a warranty for a treadmill.  You really get your money out of it.

.

I did take a picture of my stomach pooch this morning.  I’ll post it later.  I’m too lazy to go up and get the camera.  I love saying i’m lazy :D

Quickie

I’m still drugged up but I made it through.  It wasn’t too bad although I remember waking up during it and my stomach was hurting BAD!  That colon cleaning stuff didn’t work for me.  I mean sure I pooped some but nothing like I though it was going to be.

.

I’m so tired from waking up every hour since 1a to poop.  Keep in mind that once you take the solution it’s suppose to work in 2 hours and clean you out in 2 hours.  I took mine at 4p and i’m still using the bathroom.  I always knew my digestion was slow but now it’s confirmed.

.

Next step is to get some bloodwork done.  I may do that tomorrow.

.

I just ate some oatmeal with an amazing new protein powder find.  An all natural powder that actually tastes good!  I’ll post about it tomorrow.  It’s time for shut eye.

CHILLaxin’

I love to eat and I love to workout but today has been stress free.  I don’t have to worry about my next meal or when i’ll fit in my workouts..it’s been wonderful!  I got alot accomplished as well.

  • Sleep until 7a
  • Go to mall to buy GTE
  • Take movies back
  • Walmart to buy paint supplies
  • Kroger to get Mike’s cereal
  • Take poop pills at noon
  • watch Giada make this awesome lentil salad and drool

Yes that is my productive day so far.

.

Okay, I went with the orange flavor.  After smelling them all it was the best smelling so I went with that :D   I’m waiting for the pills to kick in.  If they don’t produce a movement within 6 hours i’m to start taking the drink anyway.

You know I took some before pictures.  I want to see if I look any thinner without a bunch of poo in me.

I need a tan something fierce.

Someone is snoring :D

.

Surprisingly i’m not hungry at all.  I’m normally ready to eat every 2-3 hours.  I’m trying to decide what will be my first meal after the “search” tomorrow.  Now tomorrow is going to be the roughest…no water or anything until after the procedure.

.

ARG!  I got a package delivered from the UPS man AND the Fedex man and I can’t try them out today :(

.

What was your first car?  Mine was an ’83 Mercury Cougar in black.  I loved that car!

Speaking of cars….looks as if i’m driving a death trap!  ’09 Toyota Matrix XRS

The Monster Mash

This morning I was suppose to have a job interview.  I wasn’t real sure about the place plus it SNOWED again last night.  The place was 1/2 hour away and I really just wasn’t into it so I cancelled.

.

I got up and did 36 mins of cardio.  If I would have known I wasn’t going to the interview I would have went longer.  Then I did something off schedule.  I did my leg workout around 9a.  I typically lift around 2:30p.  Lately i’ve been so exhausted around that time I figured I would do it early and get it over with.  I’m so glad I did!    I haven’t taken any supplements for a week and let me tell you my body knows it.

.

For lunch I had my bowl of mash :D

  • Chicken
  • sweet potato
  • 100 cal packet of guacamole

I love this lunch!

.

Tonight is my sister’s birthday celebration!  Mike and I changed our minds about eating out.  We are just going to hang at my mom’s all night.  That means i’ll be bringing MY dinner.  Fish, sauteed cole slaw mix, and roasted broccoli YUM!  This is SO good, wish mustard and stevia of course ;)   I MIGHT, that’s a might have a sliver of cake just for Kelly ;)

For real though, I don’t feel left out or anything when i’m not partaking in the gorgefest.  I used to but not anymore.  I’d rather have a Tbsp of PB.  Or a rice cake w/ pb and chocolate morsels hmmmm…..

.

Tomorrow is the liquid day….oh boy!  I’m getting prepared.

I’m actually excited about doing the liquid day.  I’ll also be taking the medicine that is going to CLEAN ME OUT!  I bet i’ll be feeling awesome Thursday morning!

.

Have you ever done a liquid diet?  I have and like I mentioned I felt GREAT the following morning.  This leads me to believe I do have a food allergy.  I’ll find out soon enough!

More Bread Please!

Back in the day when I started this blog, and my journey towards not being another chubby american, I came across Amyella’s blog.  I loved her writing style and hearing about her day to day life.  She was also a GENIUS in the kitchen.  I would have never known to microwave protein powder to make chocolate lava cakes etc… She now has a blog exclusively with her healthy recipes on it.  Here’s one of my favorites.  I haven’t made it in awhile but I may have to soon.  Macadamia nut oil is so yummy if you’ve never used it before.  I know you can get it from www.bodybuilding.com but they are usually out of stock so I get mine through www.nutritiongeeks.com .

This is really, really yummy fake bread. The consistency is sort of like corn bread, the flavor is nutty and bold like a whole grain bread. You bake it on a cookie sheet and cut it so that it comes out like sandwich bread slices. It’s just barely 1 gram of carb per serving and all of the very best, healthiest fats possible.

And it tastes amazing. At least try this, please! It’s so easy to make and if you don’t like it for some reason, invite me over and I’ll take the whole damn pan.

I can’t believe I don’t have to miss bread anymore. Holy crap, I might have a sandwich tomorrow!

Flaxseed “Bread”

2 cups flax seed meal
1 Tablespoon baking powder
1 teaspoon salt
1-2 Tablespoons Splenda, or to taste
5 beaten eggs (or equivalent using egg whites)
1/2 cup water
1/3 cup macadamia nut oil

Preheat oven to 350 F. Prepare cookie sheet with sprayed parchment paper or a silpat mat.

Mix dry ingredient, add wet to dry, and combine well. Let batter set for 2 to 3 minutes to thicken up some. Pour batter onto pan. Spread it in roughly a rectangle shape an inch. Bake for about 20 minutes.

Cool and cut into whatever size slices you want.

For 12 slices, each (using all egg whites):
194 calories
16 g fat (all from the flax and macadamia nut oil – super healthy!)
7.8 g carb
6.6 g fiber (making the net carb for these 1.2 g each, if you’re into that sort of thing)
6.8 g protein

Happy Birthday Sissy :)

Today is my sister’s 31st birthday.  Gosh, how did we get this old?  It still seems like yesterday that we were playing Barbies and watching Fraggle Rock together.

I think her boobs were still bigger than mine.

Mom’s having ice cream cake tomorrow night because that is what night she is off.  Ice cream cake is my favorite.  I won’t have any as usual but part of me thinks I may have a sliver since i’ll be pooping it out Wednesday LOL!  Mike and I are then going to go eat at Oaken Barrel.  So I can have my SALAD!!!!  I want something really yummy before my starvation diet.

.

The answers to the pups question was right under your nose.  Just click on the picture to show the dog’s owner.

.

My bowl hath spilleth over.

I seriously had to leave some in the pot.  I added 1/2 cup of wheat bran before I cooked it.  FIBER YUM!

.

Hey Fitness friends…i’m eating brussel sprouts and it’s 10a!  :D

I’m not like some master chef but anything cooked at 425 for 20-30 minutes becomes a masterpiece.  Especially with mustard and stevia :)

.

Margarita, I used coconut oil in my protein cake last night instead of flax!  You are a genius! ;)   It was like a coconut cake.  I’ve been making those things for years now and wish I would have known…live and learn :D

Do you have any brothers or sisters?  I have one little sister.  Well, she’s not really little anymore.

Who doesn’t like PB and Chocolate?

Thanks you all so much for your replies below about my “butthole search”.  I feel much better knowing some of you went through it and are still alive.  I went to Starbucks today to meet my friend and she had one last year.  She told me all about it and I know I just need to get it over with so I can get on with my life.  She told me I looked tired.  That’s probably true since I have been tossing and turning with freaking stomach grumbles!  I should probably take a blue pill before bedtime.

.

We had an impromptu showing this afternoon.  Luckily I wasn’t home to take the call.  Mike was and got things cleaned up.  I called him before I left Starbucks.  He asked if I was in a good mood…I ask why?  Then he told me we had a showing.  Luckily it wasn’t a 2 hour window like most of them are.  We drove to the movie rental place and rented Public Enemies.  I’ll let you know how I like it.

.

Since Kelly O made fun of my dessert the other night I created another version.  How does this look?  April’s protein peanut butter cup :D

  • 1 scoop chocolate whey
  • 1/8 tsp guar gum(optional)
  • 1 tsp unsweetened cocoa powder
  • water to make batter
  • plop of PB

Mix it all together and plop the PB in the middle.  Cover with some chocolate mixture and stick in the freezer YUM!  Pour a glass of almond milk because you’ll need to wash it down with something and milk goes great with PB and chocolate :D

Speaking of PB, somebody takes it a little to serious.  Not naming names but she has

black and white fur.

I cleaned up the yard.  It hadn’t happened in awhile :)

I do have peanut butter on my new meal plan.  2 TBSP a day.  Do you believe I haven’t eaten the entire container?  I think knowing I CAN have it and I actually get it more than once is helping.

.

My friend Amy and I were suppose to go walking this evening.  I text her and said 4:15?  No response.  Called her..nothing.  I went upstairs and looked at the treadmill and just didn’t want to do it.  I thought about busting out some step aerobics and that didn’t appeal to me either.  Did I mention I have been worn down lately?  So on the love seat I went and conked out.  I guess I needed it.  I woke up and Amy had sent me a text that said sorry man I fell asleep LOL!  We are too much alike it’s scary.

.

After my laziness I was checking my google reader and watched Alli Mcgee’s blog.  Man, I think my workouts are tough.  Pfffttt….i’m a wuss compared to this chick!  This reminds me of something I was thinking about this afternoon.  It’s another blog topic.

.

Do you feel bad missing a workout?  I know i’ve probably asked this before but you know i’m feeling guilty now.  I did have a great back workout followed by an awesome cardio session so that should be good enough right?  Plus i’m trying to cut back on cardio so i’ll quit making excuses ;)

Dr. Results

I did go to the gastrologist yesterday.  He prescribed me with dicyclomine to relax my stomach.  He told me that I could have IBS but that is a general diagnosis.  I am scheduled for a colonoscopy next Thursday.  I’m not afraid of the actual procedure i’m afraid of the cost YIKES!  We do have insurance but still.  PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE, if you’ve had one let me know how it is.  I think the hardest thing is going to be not eating the day before.

Since yesterday was a bad stomach day I took the pills.  I felt better so they help out which is a relief.  I’m debating on whether or not to go ahead with the procedure.  I know I should to rule out all other problems.  It will also let me know if there are any food allergies I might have.

.

(this is NOT my house)

Showing again on the house this afternoon.  I had some abs to do but i’ll save them for the weekend.

.

Have you had a colonoscopy?  If so tell me about it!  I don’t mind poop talk ;)   I actually call this a butthole search.

I love answering questions!  That way my brain doesn’t have to think ;)  If you have them ask me!  Don’t be shy!

I DO eat right before or 1/2 hour before bed.  Screw that no eating after 6:00p crap.  It really is all about WHAT you choose to eat.  Sure no eating cake or icecream(unless it’s proein ice cream) right before bed.  Here is what I had last night:

Crunchy Cookie and protein cake!  What’s better than that?  Peanut butter on top!  Tonight I think i’ll have this!

Life with 3 redheads

The day started off as usual.  Oats and eggs.  Boomer enjoyed some oats too and when I looked at her I cracked up laughing!  This is why she is on the top 10 things that make me happy.

Stop it!

I'm not going to look!

HA! It's oatmeal I promise :)

My house was all clean again and we had to be out for a showing.  I went and hung out at my mom’s for a couple of hours.  This is where Boomer spent the day with 3 redheads.  We aren’t camera shy unlike her.

GinGin

Wembley

WAIT I WASN'T READY!

Strike a pose

April

I’m not apologizing for how disgusting I look in this picture.

My Taco Bell chihuahua impression

This is my sister’s weiner dog.  He’s a riot.  I tease Rachel about how funny it is that mom has a redheaded dog and so does she.  Im clearly the favorite in my family ;)

.

I got on the scale this morning.  I was feeling heavy but thought what the heck.  I was going to weigh yesterday but didn’t want to ruin my day with Louisa.  I am feeling positive that this meal plan is what my body needs right now.  So my weight was…..120.4!  It’s not where I want to be but I was for sure i’d be about 125 by now.  So I can’t wait to see where I am in a week!  I absolutely love EVERY meal of the day!  I’m also going to try and cut back a bit on cardio…I say try :D

.

Do you like lifting or cardio better?  I go back and forth.  Right now it’s cardio for sure.
