Throwing balls and making names

We had a great birthday celebration yesterday.  Bowling was fun and I did pretty good…for me.  I won the first game, on our lane.  Scores:

  1. 122
  2. 116
  3. 101

There was no alcohol involved, I just kept getting worse.  HA!  Q and A question:  I used a 10 lb ball :D

.

After bowling we went to my favorite restaurant.  It’s Mike’s too so i’m not that mean that I MADE him go there.  Okay, I am but the food is great and he doesn’t argue anymore.  10 years of marriage will do that to a guy.(another q/a)

Here are the names Mike put on our lane.  Yes, we are both 34.  He is actually a bit more mature than me…at times.

  1. Mike Strike
  2. Apester
  3. Justin Cider
  4. Rusty Peter

It took me a bit to get #3 ;)

.

Some of you have found my hidden section.  I didn’t announce it because i’m low key like that.  But seriously anonymous questions are the best.

Question:

Are you going to ever have children?  Nope.  Unless they are like this girl.

Remember this show anyone?

Are you really 34?  I love you whoever you are.  Yes, I am.  You can’t see the crows feet in pictures that well.

What does Mike do?  Besides pester me?  He is a scheduling analyst.

What crowd did you hang out with in High School?  I was in the color guard so I would said the band geeks.  Plus people who were bad influences on me.

.

Okay gotta run to Target!

.

What’s your favorite store to Grocery shop in?  I love SuperTarget and also Kroger.

Let them eat cake

I made the best protein cake.  Use THIS recipe but with MGN cake batter.  Then make some icing with MGN chocolate caramel powder.  I used half scoop and mixed with a bit of water.  I’m not kidding you.

It looked like this:

It tasted like this:

Happy birthday Mikey!

Today is the hubs birthday but more importantly the scale was FINALLY under 120 this morning.  119.6 to be exact.  Then I peed some more and it was 119.2 ;)

.

I woke up, ate breakfast and then made Mike an omelette with sausage, peppers, cheese and some hashy browns.  He loved every bite.  Now we’re cleaning our house for a showing.  Out of all the days ugh…Going bowling at 2p!  We haven’t been in forever.  Mike’s friends are coming down and then tonight we’re going to Oaken Barrel…YUM!  I can wait for my salad.  His buds and him will probably go out tonight but not me.  I swear I used to go out ;)

.75 cent beers, Throw Down Thursday!!!

Oh but yeah, it’s Mike’s bday and it’s all about him today right :)

My family

Mike liked the named Boomer and that is how she got her name.  Not after anything really.

.

Have a wonderful Saturday!

.

Is your spouse older or younger than you?  I’m older by 7 months :D

DOG DOWN!

OMG…I just had the scare of my life.  Boomer and I were playing “toy” and she ran into the kitchen to pounce on it like normal.  One of her old lady legs slipped and she went flip flopping all over the place.  She just sat there and looked back at me like um…what just happened.  I ran over to her and tried to stand her up and she just sat back down.  I went to grab my phone to call the vet.  I rubbed her some more and told her she’s okay.  She then got up and shook it off.  She’s tough like her mom :D   We then went into the living room to pounce the toy.  No sliding in there.

.

Now i’ve been super nice and spoiling her like crazy.  She had some of Mike’s chicken and got a brush-a brush-a.  Someone has dandruff.

LIFT HEAVY!  BE CAREFUL!

Do you bruise easily?  I swear as I get older anything causes a bruise on me.  Mike poked me last night and I said great…i’ll have a bruise in the morning.  I don’t ;)   I do take potassium tablets and a multi.

.

I love reading where you all would like to live.  Hawaii would be awesome but like most of you mentioned…the cost of living would be insane!  I mean we’re freaking out over Vodka Kombucha’s that we don’t NEED :D   I get ticked when I fill(yes I typed feel at first) up my gas tank and see that gas is .02 cents cheaper right down the road.

I’m the weiner!

I love winning things :)   Especially when they involve food!

http://eatoxygen.blogspot.com/2010/02/winner-of-don-sabrosa-salsa-giveaway.html

I don’t enter alot of the contest because I can’t be trusted with some of the goodies in my house.  I do love salsa and won’t sit and eat it all in one sitting so YIPPEE!  Now I need some blue chips…;)

I update my crunchy cookie with a few more pictures!!

Can’t you see that I am serious?

Today is ab day for me :D   I get to use my new slant board WOOT!  I want to answer a few questions to start off.  I get my bee pollen from Vitamin Shoppe.  I’ve read that it’s best to get the fresh refrigerated kind but i’m poor and I just like the taste.  It really helps ward off my sugar cravings.  I can’t really describe the taste.  At first I didn’t like it but now I chug it from the container.

.

I do like the gums in my oats.  It makes it gel more which makes it look like more and that is the way to go!

.

I started my day off with…..almond joy oatmeal!  You thought I was going to say cardio huh?  I like to just chill on ab day so that my running intervals in between sets aren’t dragging.  Well, to some of you it would be a jog but for me it’s a run ;)

.

Are you too serious?  Yeah so am I.

I told you all when Amy and I get together it’s like we’re in elementary school again.  We used to go to ToysRus in High School and play in the plastic houses.  She has a son so we didn’t make it to that part of the store.  They are lucky.

.

If you could live anywhere in the United States where would it be?  Mike and I want to move to Enterprise, Alabama.  Random I know but when we visit there we feel at home.  Plus it’s only a couple of hours from the beach :D

In 2012 the news media are dreads coming to Indianapolis for the Super Bowl.  Why?  IT’S BORING!!!

Slow and the new addition

I want to thank Jason of CSN for helping me get my 6 pack back!  I’m down to 38 days now and with my new toy  that I was sent for free i’ll be doing the laundry on my stomach before long.

*No this is not me

You know I love decline sit ups and now I can crank them out!

I have a before picture and i’ll take one before my cruise and see if there is a difference.

…………………………………

I made THE best sweet potatoes last night thanks to KERF’s post.

Slice  potatoes a little thicker than normal.  Salt, pepper and oil them.  Bake at 350 for 30 mins and then crank up the to 400 and bake another 20 mintues.  They are like pillows of heaven.  Mike loved them.  I call him a white potato kind of guy, he calls himself an eat food that tastes good guy.  Seriously try this method out.

.

I’m off to Starbucks now….you better believe i’m packing my food.  I ate breakfast a bit ago and by the time I leave it will be time to eat again :)   Better to be safe than HUNGRY!!!!

.

What’s your favorite SB drink?  My favorite would be any of the frappicino’s but i’ll stick with my old americano this morning.  After all the Arnold expo is next week and you won’t believe all the beautiful people i’ll be seeing!

p.s.  Did you have poophoria this morning LOL?!!!

Don’t let me out!

I can’t be trusted to leave the house.  I did okay considering i’m out of bee pollen.  I talked myself out of it.  :(

On a positive the Kombucha was 2/$5!  Mike requested the Zevia, i’m going to have one with my burger tonight!

.

Sears guy is upstairs right now.  Boomer is wanting out of the bedroom to kill him…for reals.

.

I learned a new word today!  Poophoria, pronounced like euphoria.  I know a few of you that will like that one ;)   It’s the GREAT feeling you get after a huge poo.

.

Thanks for the salad tips!  I went to Kroger as well and found 2 of the salad kits on sale for $2.79 instead of $3.99.  I’ll just toss the “kit” stuff and use the salad.  I love finding deals on it!

Up and at them again this morning!  I busted out 45 mins of cardio.  I really wish the sun would come out.  It makes me happy.  I need to go and get my car washed to get off all the snow and salt and take Boomer to PetSmart for some food.  Her loves that place.

.

Last night I was making dinner.  Here is what I mean by making your plate and food look more voluminous.  Which would you rather have?

Option 1

Option 2

Option 3

Okay option 3 is really not in the equation ;)   Just adding a salad makes all the difference! *note, Mike does NOT eat like that all the time.  He told me he was craving chicken fingers.

.

Lets talk lettuce.  I buy the organic romaine that’s in the little plastic containers.  This can really add up when you’re eating it alot.  So what do you buy?

Freebie…South Beach Bar

Free South Beach Bar

Thanks for the tips on voluminzing food!  I tried some xantham gum in my oats per Linsday and  it made MORE on my plate!  I typically eat my oats in a bowl unless i’m using 1/4 cup ;)

Linsday and her man are giving Julie and her man a run for the money on the cutest couple alive!  It’s a tie!

.

It looks like tilapia is in the lead!!  Do you like restaurant salmon?  Sometimes I think they over cook it.

.

Speaking of dinner, my fish is almost done.  I’m waiting on this guy to get done running.  Yes, it’s cold and there are still piles of snow but that doesn’t stop him :D

I know I said i’d show the new addition to my family…tomorrow…I promise!  It’s nothing real exciting, except to me.

I’ll try anything once

Howdy!  I had a GREAT 55 minute cardio this morning.  I took a COMPLETE rest day yesterday.  We had a house showing but it led to nothing as usual.  They all think our house is nice and clean but the living space is too small…blah, blah.  I’ve also had a great shoulder workout and an additional 22 minutes of cardio this morning.  It’s 10:15a.  Are you just waking up?  I’m such a morning person.  I have so much more energy.  That’s why i’ve switched my strength training times.  I used to do it at 2p but now I do it at 9a.  My workouts have been better I believe.

.

My digestive problems have seemed to calm down a bit.  Somedays are worse than others but not real bad like they were before THE procedure.  I’m actually thinking of acupuncture.  Maggie had a great post on it and HERE is another one.  So I did contact a local place, it’s $90 for the first visit and $60 for each additional YIKES!  Then again, doctor bills and getting a run around aren’t cheap either.

.

I think I may need to start wearing a bra?

I HATE them!!!

Or maybe not?

.

Giveaway!  This is my first time on this blog so I have some reading to do today ;)

.

What fish do you eat the most?  I LOVE a tuna steak or orange roughy but tilapia and cod seem to be more budget friendly.  After all, no need to keep up with the Jonses’ since I am one.

We’re not eating bird food

Breakfast:

I cooked it too long and it wasn’t runny :(

.

Worked out bi/tris and 25 minutes of butt kicking, air gasping cardio.

.

PWO snack

Strawberry Muscle Gauge Nutrition WPI.   I’m not a strawberry ice cream lover but this was tasty.

.

Lunch

I never thought I would eat lunch meat again.  Remember I got to eat the entire package.  I was seriously so happy eating this.  After I was done I had a euphoric experience….not kidding.

.

More cardio.  Now I remember why I like to not have a full stomach.

Snack 2

Using my apple slice corer makes this much easier.  That’s a little cup of Crazy Richards Natural Chunky Peanut Butter…mmmm..

.

Dinner

I have not had a hamburger on a bun in forever!  I had a few options here.  Bun, sweet potato, asparagus or slaw.  I went with bun and slaw :)

.

I also have to throw in the Law Abiding Citizen is an GREAT movie.

.

Before bed snack

This looks weird but was so good!  1 % small curd Cottage cheese, cake batter protein and strawberries YUM!

.

There you have it!  Now today i’m back to eating my bird food :)   I hopped on the scale this morning and I had gained a pound.  Totally to be expected.  All the carbs and sodium will do that.  I’m hoping this new meal plan will shock the fat out of me!  Breakfast this morning looked like this.  I won’t be posting pics of my eats all the time so don’t get use to it ;)   Mainly out of respect to my awesome trainer.

I wanted to post this because that is a 1/4 cup of oats.  It’s really amazing what a couple of egg whites cooked in at the end will do for it.  That and cream of tartar shaked in them before whipping in your blender!

.

Do you have any tips on making your smaller meals seem big? I like to fill half of my plate up with a salad.  It seems like i’m eating alot.  That and the cream of tartar and egg white trick in the oats.

Blueberry Banana Protein Muffin

1.5 cup oat bran
6 egg whites
.5 cup canned pumpkin
.5 cup applesauce
1 tsp of cinnamon
cap-full of vanilla extract
1 scoop vanilla protein powder
1 cup of granular Splenda or Stevia
1 banana, mashed
1.5 cup frozen blueberries

Directions

Preheat oven to 375 degrees, and prepare a muffin tin by spraying it with Pam.

Combine applesauce, egg whites, pumpkin, banana, and vanilla extract in a bowl, mix well with a blender. Combine the dry ingredients in a separate bowl gently (don’t crush the blueberries!). Once both mixtures are thoroughly combined, add the dry ingredients to the wet gradually.

Once incorporated, pour batter into the prepared muffin tin. Bake for 17-20 minutes at 375 degrees (or until toothpick comes out clean).

Weight is just a number?

I woke up this morning and decided I better weigh in.  Last week on Saturday I was up to 124.0.  I haven’t weighed since but i’ve been going by how I feel.  Remember Monday?  I felt like total dog doo.  I knew something was wrong.  I stopped Dicyclomine and by Thursday I was feeling much lighter.  I’m not 100% it has anything to do with that pill or just hormones but i’m so glad i’m feeling better.

.

I stepped on the scale.  In my head i’m thinking 122, please 122, it read 120.4!  Ahhh…I KNEW I was lighter I could FEEL it.  Now that being said it’s not where I want to be but at least i’m in control again.

.

I had to bust out the BIG pot this morning for my breakfast.  I was so excited.

.

I’ll actually post ALL my meals for you tomorrow.  This is something I don’t normally do as what I eat is quite boring but I do like it that way.

.

Let’s just say I got to eat this entire package!

It was wonderful!

.

I also made Mike some yummy chocolate chip pancakes this morning ;)

Peanut butter in the middle…drool.

I just saw that Housewives of New York starts March 4th!  That’s my favorite group of bi-atches.

Do you remember?

I’m a child of the 80′s.  Things were so much better than you think?  I wonder if kids of the 90′s think the 90′s were awesome?  Do you remember these treats?  It’s obvious I haven’t always been a health nut.  Man, I can’t believe I ever ate these things!

HOSTESS PUDDING PIES

My favorite the chocolate ones of course.

CHOCOLA

My friend Amy and I used to drink this like I drink water now!  It was WAY better than Yoo-Hoo.  Seems it was made in Indiana and maybe no ones knows about it but us Hoosiers?

KEEBLER MAGIC MIDDLE COOKES

I just love Keebler elves.  I wish I was one.

KFC CHICKEN LITTLES

Those little sandwiches were amazing!

Giggles cookies

SMURFBERRY CEREAL

WHISTLE POPS

My poor parents.

.

What thing do you remember that you liked?  It’s no wonder I had so many cavities!

Vintage and high

I’ve worked out twice already today and i’m on an endorphins high!  I had a great back workout that left me shaking afterwards.  I love those kind.  I just got back from Target.  We’re suppose to be getting more snow tonight…ugh.  I had to get some goodies for my fun eating day tomorrow!  I’m a little anxious but it’s all healthy food so I should be alright.

.

I found my old Elementary lunch box at my dad’s :)

Wow I think I was 16 in that picture.  So young and innocent with a bad perm.

.

Do you use fish oilI take all kinds of supplements at any given time.  This is one I ALWAYS take.  Hence the word ESSENTIAL.

Most people in the U.S. consume too few Omega-3 fatty acids. An excellent way to supplement these essential fatty acids is Twinlab’s Mega Twin EPA. It has a blend of fish oils that are concentrated to supply EPA and DHA – Omega-3 fatty acids that are beneficial in supporting many bodily functions. Omega-3′s help to maintain cholesterol levels that are already within the normal range. Omega-3′s also help support brain, nerve and visual ability. Clinical studies have shown that a diet that has at least 400 mg of Omega-3 fatty acids (300 mg of which are EPA and DHA) supports cardiovascular health. Also, a recent study has shown that a diet with 768.8 mg of EPA nutritionally supports healthy joint function. For overall health and wellness, make Twinlab’s Mega Twin EPA fish oil a part of your daily health regimen.

Hello my name is April

I am a protein powder addict.

Have I mentioned how tasty Muscle Guage Nutrition whey powder is?  Not to mention it is made with stevia.  I have tried just about every flavor and my favorite is chocolate caramel, followed by cake batter.  I haven’t tried a flavor I don’t like yet.

The red container is Mike’s :)

.

Do you use powders?  If so what kind.
