Good eye, good eye

I have a food scale but it’s not digital.  Now with my new scale I can get a precise measurement.  I guess I have a good eye  on what a piece of chicken looks like at 4 oz.  Check out my OpenSky store and get yours!!

.

I got a i’m jealous of you because they don’t have these in Michigan friendly text last week that Celestial Seasonings makes Kombucha and they have them at Whole Foods.  Thanks for the heads up Becca!  We need to go to Kombuchaics Anonymous.  I actually went and purchased 2 of the flavors.  They had 4.

Pomello Citrus and Berry Guava.  The verdict?  They didn’t give me a buzz…nuff said.  Nothing like these beauties I was sent a while back.

Love 004

I will keep on buying these that’s for sure.

.

Tomorrow my whole family is coming up for a cookout!  My dad is driving my mom and sister.  Remember how I said they got divorced about 6 years ago?  They still remain friends and I LOVE that!!!  Mike’s parents and oldest sister are coming too.  Look at me…the party house!  WOOT!!!!

.

What are you doing tomorrow?

Walk walk fashion baby

I spent my Friday night at a fashion show.  Our cul de sac fashion show.  The little girls invited me and I thought it was the most adorable thing.  Their parents told us don’t feel like we have to come.  They put on concerts and all sorts of things.  I told them I think it’s very brave for them to do this and so cute.  Their ages are 7,8 and two of them are 11.  Our whole street gathered around to watch the show.  Their parents vowed to never buy any more clothes so that the next one won’t be as long ;)

The little ones joined in for a bit as well.  Oh, and the only male…poor guy.

Shop till you drop

Do you remember that old game show?  I LOVED it!!!

Mom and I had a great day yesterday.  We started off with lunch.

I knew my mom would love this place.

We toasted to my new start in Noblesville…with our tea of course ;)

Mom's salad

My salad

Then we went downtown and went browsing.  There were the cutest little stores. We had a blast!  We needed some dessert but were still stuffed from the salads.  So we got some iced coffee at the Noble Coffee & Tea Shop.  Mom had their version of a mocha frappicino and of course I tried it.  It blew Starbucks out of the water.  I had an iced coffee with a bit of half and half and some stevia I always carry with me.  Afterwards my stomach was KILLING me.  Why?  IBS rule 1,000,948,000-cut out coffee.  BOO!!!!!!! I’m sure the cream didn’t help either.

.

Why can I cut out processed foods, pizza, chocolate, pasta, and other crap but simple things like coffee and radishes seem like the end of the world?  For pete’s sake this morning was the first time i’ve had oats in 6 weeks and I didn’t miss them.

.

I can’t tell if my face is really fat or if I need a tan.  Oh yes, i’m suppose to stop that right…sorry.  I’m really trying.

.

LAAAAAAAAAAAAA!!!!!!!!!!!

.

What old game show do you miss?  Supermarket Sweeps was another fun one!

Whoa-oh here she comes

Up here we have these things called roundabouts.  I’m not familiar with them at all.  I never had this training in Driver’s Ed.  Luckily i’m not an idiot or an over thinker so they were pretty easy to figure out.
I really like them because I do not like to stop.  My motto has always been no cop no stop.  If there is a cop turn your lights off and hide from them.(sorry inside joke)
.
I’ve been doing some research on IBS recently.  Although it seems that I JUST came down with it, looking back i’ve been this way for a long time.  In my early 20′s I had SEVERE constipation.  I went to a doctor 4 years ago and they just put me on Miralax.  I never go to doctors unless I FOR SURE am feeling awful.  I can tolerate pain like no other, I have it everyday, i’m used to it.  This type of pain i’m NOT used to and it’s annoying more than anything.  Here’s something that’s probably contributing to some problems. DOH!
.

Avoid gas-forming foods, such as beans and cruciferous vegetables (cabbage, broccoli, cauliflower, radishes, turnips and brussels sprouts.)

OOPS!

.

I’m glad you liked my post yesterday :)   I’ll do more of them.  I am full of random crap.

.

Are you an over thinker?  I typically see things and can figure them out.  I don’t like instructions and I use common sense.  Mike on the other hand over thinks things.  He is a very smart guy but sometimes my brains come in handy…not too often though ;)

Did you know?

I don’t like steak.  There’s a difference between not liking and not eating.  I would eat it but don’t like it.

I pick up worms who are suffering in the middle of dry sidewalks and put them in the grass.

My parents divorced when I was 29 years old.

.

IBS and food allergies are not the same.  Food allergies are more severe.

.

Giraffes have no vocal cords.

I despise mushrooms!

.

Rabbits love licorice.

.

My mom is coming up tomorrow and we’re going shopping in downtown Noblesville…I can’t wait!

Shops in downtown Noblesville, Indiana

Noblesville art event at the courthouse in Noblesville, Indiana

I have a raspy voice and if you hear me in person you might ask if i’m sick.

.

What do you want me to know?

Do you live in an active city?

This place is really made for Mike, Boomer and I.

  • bike trails
  • walking and running paths
  • nice parks
  • lakes
  • trees :)
  • restaurants that don’t serve lard on a plate

It’s so different than 45 miles south of us.  How odd that the change is so big.

.

Tip of the day:  Have your treadmill downstairs and your weights upstairs.  Do intervals on the treadmill in between each set.  WOW!  I had to do that in my workout today.  Running up the steps was a bonus!

.

Check out THIS site!  B in the game.  If you are active it’s got alot of information.  There are also tabs for animals lover, pregnant people, and a shoe blog…now I got your attention.

.

What is your favorite leisure activity?  I would say my Boomer walks although we pass some joggers.

I wanna be a fwaggle!

Is there something that you used to HATE but now love?  In the past couple of months i’m digging radishes.

A radish is the root of a plant related closely to mustard, another surprisingly healthful plant. It’s generally used as a garnish or salad ingredient because of its mild-to-peppery flavor and unique red-and-white coloration, but it’s much more than just a garnish.

This plant comes in several varieties, though the most common in North America is the oval, red-skinned version. Look for the ones with unblemished and bright-colored skin, a firm and compact texture, and short, bright green leaves. You might also look for daikon, an oriental version that looks like a cross between a white carrot and a turnip. Regular radishes can be found in most grocery stores, while daikon is primarily sold in Oriental specialty markets. To store, break the leaves off, put the roots in a plastic bag, and keep refrigerated no more than a week. When you’re serving them, you can soak radish in ice water for an hour or two for extra crispness; or you can braise thin-sliced daikon in a bit of sesame oil and serve hot for an Oriental treat.

Ordinary radishes are a great source of vitamin C and are rich in minerals like sulphur, iron, and iodine. Daikon is even better, a source of vitamin C, potassium, magnesium, and folate as well as sulphur, iron, and iodine.

Radishes can be added to vegetable juice to spice up the flavor a little. In this form, they can help clear your sinus cavities and soothe your sore throat. The vitamin C in radishes is an antioxidant and anti-inflammatory, and has been shown to have a positive effect on asthma symptoms because of its anti-inflammatory properties. Potassium can help lower your risk of kidney stones and strokes, and radishes along a diet high in other fruits and vegetables can significantly lower your risk of multiple sclerosis.

Besides, the earthy-spicy flavor of radish, unlike any other vegetable, can bring out unexpected flavors in your meals. With no drawbacks, what’s not to like?

.

So now I can seriously be a Fraggle.

.

Are you an optimist or a pessimist?

I’m not sure what this was all about?

Checking out the new park

Good afternoon!  I had my interview this morning.  It was the easiest interview i’ve ever done.  Straight to the point, none of the, what is your best and worst asset etc…Just state what you did at your past job and a few other things.  I did well but I think they may want someone with more experience?  That’s just the vibe I got.  The drive was AWFUL!  I would be on the road for an hour and 10 mins everyday.  I should know something by next week so we’ll see.

.

Today marks a year that I lost my Grandpa Bailey.  I really can’t believe he’s gone.  I still talk to him and I know he watches over me.  I had a Vanilla latte in his memory today.  He liked hot regular ones but I got an iced skinny one ;)   It makes me happy that I put a note with his casket telling him to keep his powder dry.

Then Boomer and I went to check out one of many lovely parks here.

Is that a bunny?

A doggie fountain!  How cute?

I LOVE Daisies!!!

It even had a carousel!!

.

It was a nice day.  I came home and did a leg workout.  Now i’m thinking about doing some step aerobics.

.

What the temperature like in your neck of the woods?  It’s HOT here!  86 and muggy…yuck!

NutraFiber review

I was so excited to try this product.  I was sent a bag of NutraFiber last week to review.  I can no longer tolerate wheat bran :(   Again I do not have a gluten allergy per se but I know there is an intolerance to it.

NutraFiber® Flakes are a 100% natural dietary fiber made with 100% Sugar Beets, after the sugar is extracted.

NutraFiber is a concentrated fiber with an optimal ratio of Soluble & Insoluble Fibers.

The inclusion of Soluble Fibers as part of a balanced, healthy diet have been shown to lower LDL (bad) blood cholesterol levels and increase HDL (good) blood cholesterol levels.

NutraFiber Flakes reduce your appetite, while providing a feeling of fullness for a longer period of time.

NutraFiber offers more fiber per serving than oat bran or rice bran. It is also cholesterol free and low in sodium.

NutraFiber is also Gluten Free, making it a great source of fiber enrichment for those on a Celiac Diet.

.

My thoughts:

I really like this product.  The taste at first it weird.  It’s almost like grass.  I’ve been using it in my salads, pancakes and protein shakes to boost the fiber.  Not too much though :)

Great stats!

.

Check out their website for some great recipes!!

Dinner on the water

I’m having a FABULOUS weekend!  Last night we went out to eat with some friends.  We ate at a place called Wolfies Waterfront Grill.  It’s was slow service but the food was good.  I’m going to take my mom later this week :D

My amazing view:

Oh and this too ;)

Boomer had to stay home and wasn’t thrilled.

I’m learning so much from this book!  Amy, remember how I would pee before I left my house, drove 2 mins to yours, have to pee again, and then sometimes at apartment complexes along our walk?  Well come to find out this is IBS related.  There are some other things as well that I will keep to myself.

.

I’m getting geared up to watch Lost :(   I’m so sad it’s ending.

.

Do you watch Lost?  Who is your favorite character?  I love Sawyer!  He can call me Freckles anyday ;)

No longer Sleepless In Seattle

Mike made it home around 1230a early this morning.  I actually woke up hugged him, peed and went back to sleep.  I tried to have a conversation but when he didn’t answer I figured he just wanted to sleep HA!

.

Boomer and I started our morning off with a 40 min walk.

Today I headed to Borders.  I had 2 gift cards I needed to burn up.  It’s always fun trying to find places.  I’m so used to knowing where everything is at.  I’ve been doing alot of asking.  I picked up these 2 things:

It cost me a $1.28!  I’m so excited about the IBS book.  I had a bit of a flare up this week and i’m trying to figure out why.  It’s really nice knowing that my problem is just IBS and nothing more serious.

.

We had a couple of friends over this afternoon and grilled out.  Can you guess what I had?

It was good too!  I didn’t have any of these :(

I love a good beer but just knowing that your body metabolizes alcohol before food gives me the eebie jeebies.

.

Mike is pressure washing the patio and i’m about to clean out  my car!  It’s a nice weekend!

.

GOOD LUCK TO MARGARITA, LORI, CRUCKY, DANIELLE, AND SUNDIE!!!!!  They are competing in Colorado today.

Good luck to Tori as well!!

.

What are you doing this weekend?  Do you drink on occasion?

What will you look like?

I also did one as a drug addict and actually liked that one better..hmmm….j/k.

http://in20years.com/

I have hopes that i’ll age well like mom.  She also smoked for half her life, frequents the tanning bed and doesn’t have the best eating habits.

What’s dad doing?  Having a blast on his first real vacation ever!  His first time flying at the age of 58.  He loves Seafood and I think he’s enjoying that.

We’ve been keeping in contact via Facebook.  He doesn’t have it but his friends do :)

Wascally Wabbits

I loved the mowing responses :)   I must say i’ll probably never do it again even though it was a GREAT workout.  I agree with Kelly O…that’s what men are for LOL!  If we still lived in our old neighborhood I would NOT have done it.  Things are just so pretty here and people take care of their yards and I didn’t want to be THAT neighbor.

I also must say that are mower is not self propelled.  I used my upper body and big glutes to push through!

.

Boomer found a new toy this morning.

She loves chasing rabbits.  I don’t think she’d hurt one if she caught it.  Our yard is UNFORTUNATELY full of them.  I say that because we don’t need a fence, normally she’ll stay in the yard.  That is unless she’s chasing a rabbit.

.

My morning was spent on the treadmill doing  the first part of THIS workout.  Then it was time for these babies!

I also got a new toy in the mail yesterday.  Thanks EatSmart!!!

Do you ever reader a bloggers life and think man I wish I could eat all of that to stay thin only to find out they are 22-24?  It’s funny how your thinking changes when you get a bit older.  I’ve never been one to eat what I want and be thin.  Even in my teen years.  Of course this is all relative to the WAY I ate.

I really commend the younger crowd that are taking care of themselves at a young age.  I say this in a loving way even though a part of me is jealous and wish I would have done the same.

.

I know if he could go back in time and redo his drug and alcohol habits he would.  Now he has 2 daughters he may never walk down the aisle…was it worth it?  When we are younger we don’t typically think about the future.  Especially at my age.  I didn’t have the internet and a great group of people I could relate to and stay healthy with.  I’m so glad I have that now!!  Thank you ALL so much!

.

I’m going to make it an appoint to comment on a new blog everyday.  I think you should all join in as well.  We all love getting new commenters and who knows this person might relate to you.  I find new blogs by reading comments on others blogs.  This is another reason I love deals and giveaways.

.

Okay off for a dog walk!  First I need to bring her in….she’s wabbit hunting.

MOWst exhausting workout

Mike and I have been married for almost 11 years.  Today marks the first day that I mowed our yard.

Boomer and I went on a 35 min walk and it was so nice outside that I decided I’M going to do it!  I forgot to buy lottery tickets last night so I had to redeem myself.  Oh yes, Mike has been in Seattle all week.  I didn’t mention it in case there are any creepers out there.  You have one day to come and kill me but I warn you my dog is VERY protective of me.

After mowing I was exhausted.  I ate a salad with chicken, filled the bird feeder, hung my new wind chimes and crashed on the couch.  I never just crash on the couch.  I thought about not working out today now but i’m starting to get some energy back.

Okay off to the treadmill I go before I change my mind!!!

.

Do you mow your  yard?

Pintos and cheese

I’ve had a GREAT day!  Busy but great!  Amy came up and we went for a walk.  I miss our walks.  She is going to move up here…isn’t that right?  We use to eat at Taco Bell during our teen years.  Loved the pintos and cheese.  I got some samples of Beanitos sent to me this week and decided to try some today.  I made Amy sample them as well.  We both concluded they taste just like pinto and cheese and even feel the same on the roof of your mouth…AWESOME!

I have yet to try the black bean chips but will!

NUTRITIONAL INFO!

Walk brought to you by fitsok

.

Things went well at the temp agency.  I found out i’m very skilled all around the board.  I bet it’s nice to see someone like me come in…toot, toot!

This is what I typically saw there:

I wish I were joking.  Today I got a call and have an interview next Tuesday.  This is something I applied for a couple of month ago.  This is a company that is HUGE!  We’ve all had their products.  They have killer benefits and incentives.  It’s 40 mins away but well worth it.

.

Oh yeah, I got the letter yesterday that my scan was A-Okay!  Part of me wishes something was wrong since I went through all these freaking test.  I tell you though…NOT having oats has been a MIRACLE!!!  I hate to feel like i’m going with the rest of America on the gluten free kick but my stomach hasn’t felt better.  After Saturday nights festivities it was gassy and rumbly but now I know why.

.

I’ve seen alot of pregnant women around.  Even lots of bloggers are becoming pregnant.  Are you having kids?  If you have them do you want more?  I get asked this question all of the time.  I’ll be 35 this year and my biological clock hasn’t ticked at all.  I have ZERO interest in kids.  No I won’t miss it since i’ve never had it.

A few good things

Hey everyone!  I had a very busy day yesterday and I got a few things to review in the mail as well!  I’ll be back with a regular post soon but for now check these out…..

.

We all love Skwigg…check out her interview here.

.

Also check out this post by Tony.  If you’ve ever said “Easier said than done” it’s a MUST read.

.

Now, who is this dog?  For real…it’s not Boomer.  They say everyone has a twin out there.

Have you seen your twin?  Mike saw this chick below and said it resembles me.

Come on….i’m not THAT white.  I also have more freckles and more ear piercings :D

.

Speaking of twins…Someone on this post resembles me EXACTLY.  Little waggler tooth and all!

Guest House

I made the mistake of going to Kohl’s today.  I actually did really well.  I only bought one thing.  I’m going to a temp agency because i’m sick of looking for a job tomorrow.  I figured I can wear it there.

daisy fuentes Mixed-Media Dress

I had a great leg workout today and moved Mike’s office and a bedroom around.  That was a workout in itself.

.

I’m loving my guest house!  It’s so peaceful.  It’s like yoga but you just have to sit there.

Do you flirt?  I admit to it.  It doesn’t happen often.  Only when I need to get my way.

Easy like a Sunday morning

What?  It’s Monday?  Yesterday was such a great day.  Mike and I had a nice bike ride together, I did my bi/tri workout and some extra cardio.  Not only that but I SAT DOWN and watched The Craft…all of it!  I love that movie and it was nice to chill.  I don’t have a long attention span so this was a big deal.

My body was not liking my OOOE.  What is that?  Out of ordinary eating.  It’s NOT cheating or going off my meal plan.  Those sounds like bad things.  I wasn’t “allowed” to eat out of the ordinary, I chose to eat out of the ordinary and that’s OKAY.   My party was so great and so much fun.  BTW I told my trainer I was having a party and he told me to enjoy myself :D   All my sunday workouts were done in my new soks!

My grandma came :)   Thanks for bringing her mom!  She kept mentioning the bread box my grandpa had made for me.  She said he won’t be making anymore will he.  I never thought of my grandma as a strong woman.  Now I do.  After he passed she really stepped up to the plate as much as she can.  I think this is why subconsciously I have always never “relied” on a man.  If something happens you need to be able to take care of yourself…..okay back to the party.

Not once did I complain about not having enough space!  It was awesome!

Ah, oreo pudding.  It was tasty!  I also made this SIMPLE dip.(no photo)

  • 16 oz sour cream
  • 16 oz cream cheese
  • 1 taco seasoning packet
  • shredded lettuce
  • 8 oz shredded cheese
  • pico de gallo or diced tomatoes

Just blend the first three ingredients with a mixer.  Top with the lettuce, cheese and other toppings of your choice.  Quick and easy!

Enjoying a drink while cooking.  Yeah right ;)

It was Kombucha.  See the glob of goodness!

There were party games…….

CORNHOLE!

Some housewarming gifts from my best pal Amy!  She asked what we needed.  I told her a dog that doesn’t shed, and a job.  Then I remembered I don’t even have a blender.  Then I thought, I would love to try Caribou coffee so I threw that out as well since it’s cheaper.  Mike wanted a basketball goal.  His was left at our old place.

Ask and you shall receive!  Little does HE know my friend is a bigger punk that I am ;)

Boomer even got something!

The star of the show was the “brookie” for sure.  Half brownie, half cookie, GENIUS!!!

.

What is a food you would combine together to make even more awesome?  How about a peanut butter oatmeal cookie?  That sounds great!

Now you can clearly see why I need a job.

I found a chart and in  my old county there are 5200 people unemployed and 1200 jobs.  You do the math.

Back from shopping

Hungry = protein cake

Lets try out my new soks!

What?  You don’t want to walk??  Lazy….

I’ll do yard work instead.

supervising

It WAS cool to have a bigger house until I busted this out.

Time for my back workout!

I know, it’s exciting.
