My eats for the day:

I start my day off with a vienna sausage.  I love when I hear the sound of the garlic press.  Mom doesn’t know that I know she crushes a pill up in  my sausage.  It tastes so good though I don’t mind.

.

Then it’s off to eat my food.  I’m not a binge eater.  I eats in the morning with mommy and then at night when daddy and hers are eating.

See all that hair?  Yep, mom has to sweep that up just about everyday.  She sheds  a lot too.  The food I get is this

Nutro Natural Choice Large Breed Senior Dog Food
They won’t give me a senior discount…mom asked.
.
On Saturday’s I get one of these.  This is my favorite day.  Mom takes me for a long run and after she goes to the stores I get a Jumbone!
.
.
It’s hard to see in this picture.  I like to savor them outside in front of the other dogs next door.  They only get homemade food and it makes their poops running.  Not me.  Mine are in perfectly round balls all the times.
.
Sometimes I get things throughout the day too called Snausages.  They’re not as fun as Jumbones but I don’t complain.
.
For my exercise mom takes me for walk or runs.  I used to run with daddy but he’s too fast for me now that i’m older.  Mom’s still slow.  I also like to play toy.  I like to play with mommy more because she’s not as rough as daddy.  He forgets i’m a girl.

I have a good life.  I love my mom and dad and my new house too.  I am a mommy’s girl for sure.  I protect her.  I once scared off a person trying to get in the back door when mommy was home by herself.  Grandma told me to always protect her so I do.
.

April here, Boomer doesn’t know that secretly I buy the Ol Roy Munchy Bones for her Jumbones.  I use to spend $3 per Jumbone and when I was unemployed I had to make some changes.  She still loves them.

No need to leave the house to shop

Lucky me to be able to do another review of  a csnstores.com product.  They have a huge website with a variety of products.  Things like dutch ovens, coffee makers, even wicker furniture.

I highly recommend you browse through their site and see if there is anything you need!

Remember my last review?  I still LOVE my slant board.  Yes, CSNstores.com even has fitness equipment.

I will be reviewing a product very soon but in the meantime go ahead and shop from home!

Dooms day postponed

I was suppose to weigh in this morning but I started my monthly oil change yesterday.  This is 2 months in a row!  I’m sure i’m the only one excited this happens.  So I told Tony I would wait a few days.  I haven’t weighed since February.  That’s a world record.  I am feeling leaner even on TOM.

Boomer and I went on a 3 mile run this morning.  No Garmins or HRM’s involved.  Just fun.  I am going to do my bi/tris later and tomorrow is my rest day which will involve dog walking and FRISBEE GOLF!  We’re also going to be getting a new matress set for our spare bedroom.  This way my mom can come and stay with me :)

.

My dad made me LOL this morning for real.  My status on Facebook was….Tough decision….Kroger, SuperTarget, Meijer or Walmart.  He right away puts…Take the curtain!  :)   He makes me smile.

Laziness

I know, me lazy right?  I had made cookies and bread Tuesday and prepped my food for Wednesday so last night when the time rolled around I just wasn’t into it.  I turned today into another liquid day!  They keep getting easier and easier and I wasn’t worn out when I got home.

.

This morning I did 50 mins of cardio before work.  I woke up earlier that night to pee and felt drained.  I thought maybe I will sleep in.  Well, I woke up, looked at the alarm clock and it was only 4:40a but I was bright eyed and bushy tailed.

It was a good session of course.  Empty stomach straight out of beds are for me.

.

If you could eat one thing all the time that didn’t make you gain weight what would it be?  Just one thing.  I would say peanut butter :)   Now i’m not saying PB is a bad thing by any means.  It is just something you need to eat in moderation.  If you eat the entire jar it is also a choking hazard…yeah, been there.

A new toy

I received a new toy in the mail last week from America’s Nutrition.  You know how I love to work my abs.  I thought it was only fitting to make them work HARDER!  The toy I got is this!  The 8 lber.

What do you use a medicine ball for?  All sorts of things.   I told Tony about it and he’s going to incorporate it into my workouts.

Overhead Lateral Flexion

Medicine Ball Exercises: Overhead Lateral Flexion
Overhead Lateral Flexion
Figure 1
  1. Begin by standing with your feet shoulder width apart and the medicine ball held with your arms locked over head (see figure 1).
  2. In a controlled motion, move the ball laterally to the right, bending slightly at your waist.
  3. Return the ball to overhead and repeat to the left side.

Kneel to Push Up

Medicine Ball Exercises: Kneel to Push Up
Kneel to Push Up
Figure 2

  1. Start on your knees with your upper body held upright, holding the medicine ball at chest level (see figure 2).
  2. While falling forward, chest pass the medicine ball to your partner or against a wall.
  3. Continue the forward motion, falling to the floor in the push up position (on your knees).
  4. Immediately complete a push up and return to the starting position.

  • Variation: Instead of starting with the ball at chest level, start with the ball held overhead.
  • Advanced Technique: Explode back to the starting position while having your partner throw the ball back to you.

Diagonal Chop (aka Wood Chopper)

Medicine Ball Exercises: Diagonal Chop
Diagonal Chop
Figure 3

  1. Start by standing upright with the medicine ball above and behind your ear.
  2. Make a chopping motion by moving the ball from the starting position across your body diagonally, ending near the opposite knee.
  3. Finish the repetition by returning the ball to the starting position by reversing the motion.
  4. After completing several reps, repeat the exercise on the opposite side.

  • For an increased range of motion, rotate your back foot while completing the exercise.
  • Advanced Technique: Lift your back foot off the floor as you move the ball downward to your knee, and lift your front foot off the floor during the upper portion of the exercise

Squats

Medicine Ball Exercises: Squats
Squats
Figure 4

  1. Begin by standing upright with your feet shoulder width apart.
  2. Hold the medicine ball at chest level with your arms fully extended in front of you.
  3. Squat down, keeping your eyes facing forward, until you thighs are parallel to the floor.
  4. Hold for a second and return to the starting position.

  • Variation: Start with the medicine ball at your chest and press either up (above your head) or out (laterally from the body) as you squat down. Return the ball to your chest as you return to the standing position.

One Leg Squat

Medicine Ball Exercises: One-Leg Squat
One-Leg Squat
Figure 5

  1. Start by standing upright, holding the ball at chest level in front of you with arms fully extended.
  2. Squat down on one leg, keeping the ball out in front of you and parallel to the floor to act as a counterbalance.
  3. Your free leg should be held rigid out in front of you as you squat (see figure 5).

  • Variation: Start with the medicine ball at your chest and press out (laterally from the body) as you squat down. Return the ball to your chest as you return to the standing position.

Lunges

Medicine Ball Exercises: Lunges
Lunges
Figure 6

  1. Begin by standing with the medicine ball held at your waist (approximately at belly button height).
  2. Take a step forward with one leg, lowering yourself until the top of your leg is parallel to the floor. Make sure that your knee does not extend past your toes to avoid injury.
  3. Either return to the starting position and repeat the movement with the opposite leg, or perform a “walking” lunge by continuing forward by alternating legs and “walking” across the floor.

Slams

Medicine Ball Exercises: Slams
Slams
Figure 7
  1. Begin by standing with your feet slightly wider than shoulder width apart and your knees slightly bent.
  2. Hold the medicine ball above your head.
  3. Throw the ball forcefully down on the ground, making sure to pull down with your abdominals on the downward throwing motion.
  4. Catch the ball and return to the starting position.

  • Advanced Technique: For an added challenge, you can perform this exercise with one arm at a time. Catch the ball on the bounce and repeat with the other arm.

Figure Eights

Medicine Ball Exercises: Figure Eights
Figure Eights
Figure 8

  1. Start by standing upright, holding the ball above your left shoulder with arms extended (at approximately the same level as your ear).

    1. Taking the ball from the left ear diagonally across the body toward your right knee (similar to the diagonal chop in figure 3 above),
    2. Up to your right ear,
    3. Diagonally toward your left knee, and finally
    4. Back to the starting position at your left ear.

  • Tip: Think of this exercises like a combination of diagonal chops.
  • Advanced Technique: For an added challenge, you can use a ball with a string and handle attached (shown in picture).

Push Ups

Medicine Ball Exercises: Push Ups

Like locusts

The pitch in was a success today.  The people came like a swarm of locusts and ate everything.  They all wanted my beer bread recipe :)   I was the only one that didn’t touch a drop.  A few years ago this would have bothered me.  Now it’s just normal.  I didn’t want that crap.  They had Tostitos and I would be lying if I said I didn’t want those but i’m on fire!!

.

I was putting on my pj’s because after I workout and shower at 5p that’s what happens…so anyhow, Mike says “How the heck did you get lean so fast?”  That made me a happy girl!  It could be a number of things.

  1. Getting a job = less stressing and a routine life
  2. Empty stomach cardio again is what my body needs
  3. The training i’m doing right now is awesome!
  4. Liquid days
  5. No more dairy

So the list is long and I can’t pinpoint 1 thing.  I do know that i’m focused and being mentally there is a big key.  Mike sees what I eat, how I train and it’s really no different than what I do when I chub up so who knows.

.

Killah cardio this morning!

Being an adult

I don’t often think of myself as an adult.  Maybe because my mom still throws me birthday parties, gets me Barbie’s for Christmas or the fact I still usually get what I want.  I haven’t gotten that Lexus SC430 but things within reason I get.  This weekend Mike and I were big boys and girls and went and picked out the granite for our countertops.

 .

Our first house was just that.  A first home.  Now we’re looking at this home as an investment.  We really learned a lot in our first home.  The home we have now when we sell should make a profit…unless the economy takes another dump.

 .

Here is the granite we chose:

Here is our new faucet:

Because I’m a sucker for infomercials:

SHARK Vac Then Steam Mop at Local Stores

Shark Vac Then Steam

Training is still going great.  I did another liquid day yesterday.  NOTE TO SELF: DO NOT do a liquid day on leg day.  I was exhausted afterwards.  I went to bed at 7:30p.

 .

My morning cardio is still ROCKIN!!  I love them!

 .

Apparently food does my body good.  My shoulder workout was INSANE!  I had energy through the roof!

 .

We’re having a pitch in at work tomorrow.  I’m making lemon poppy seed cookies and beer bread.  One of my pet peeves is when people eat food but don’t bring it.  Watch this red-head get fired up!

.

Do you use the cart corral?  That’s another peeve of mine.  Some people are just WAY too lazy.

FOCUSED!!!!

I am SO focused right now!  I LOVE IT!!!  My liquid day was a hit!  I also had a cookout here last night :)   Nothing phased me.  I’m crazy like that.  My friend who moved to Florida 8 years ago was in town and I had her and Brandon(old roommate) over.  She was staying at his place.  He’s having a cookout tonight.  I’m trying to decide if I want to go.  Really, I don’t want to leave Boomer by herself.

Mmmm…baked beans.  Cathie is one of those girls you want to hate.  She stays thin and eats what she wants.  Except she’s lactose intolerant.  Oh man, we used to party HARD!  Now neither one of us drink.

.

Here’s a great song to pump you up!  Play it and dance, you’ll burn calories.  Unless you have little ones in the room!!!

Would people be surprised at the music you listen too?  I will give that a big yes.  I listen to anything from Five Finger Death Punch to Lil Jon to Cyndi Lauper to Journey.  You name it…NO country!!!!

Glug glug

Hi!  I have a pretty relaxing night tonight.  No meals to prep etc…it’s a nice change of pace.  I’m doing a liquid day tomorrow!  I always want to do these I just never end up doing them.  I always feel amazing the next day which tells me something I eat doesn’t settle with me well.  Meat?  Veggies?  Egg whites?  who knows.

.

In the morning i’m going to get up and do an HOUR on the treadmill.  Since I will have more time in the morning NOT eating breakfast i’ll spend it burning some calories :)   I’ll have a shake for breakfast.

.

Thank goodness for Xantham and Guar gums.  They make REALLY good protein pudding.  Speaking of protein pudding.  I wanted to get Muscle Gauge cinnamon roll and chocolate carmel but it’s sold out!  On bodybuilding.com and muscleandstrength.  I did get cake batter.

Chocolate pudding:

  • 1 scoop protein powder
  • 1/2 cup of water or less
  • 1/2 tsp guar gum
  • 1/2 tsp xantham gum
  • 1 pkt stevia
  • 1 T cocoa powder
  • 1T NutraFiber Flakes (for texture)…and fiber ;)

Blend in magic bullet until it gets thick.  May take more than 30 seconds.

.

May the force be with me tomorrow :)   I’ll let you know how I feel Saturday morning!

.

Did you watch the Roast of David Hasselhoff?  It’s HILARIOUS!!!!

Becoming a bikini babe

Lets face it.  I don’t look like I should be in a bikini 24/7.  For me it’s a LOT of hard work.  Even then there are still things about me that are just odd.  I don’t have a perfect booty, but I try.  I don’t have a flat stomach unless i’m drinking absolutely NOTHING, but I try.  What else are you gonna do?  When I WANT to do something I do it.

.

Take running for example.  I don’t want to go on long runs and my husband doesn’t understand that.  He says, YOU CAN DO IT!  I know I CAN do it, I don’t LIKE it.  Therefore being the stubborn person I am…i’ll never try with all my might.

.

Back to bikini.  I TRY with all my might.  I diet, do cardio, lift weights and follow my protocol.  It’s really all about what you are comfortable presenting and how far you’ve come.  Sure it P’s me off when I see 20 year old who probably 4 weeks before the show were at the lake drinking beer and partying it up with their flat stomachs.  Then again, i’ve never been able to do that.  I think that is why this “diet” if that is what you want to call it is easier for me.  I don’t WANT mexican food, I don’t WANT pizza.  Especially now that I have IBS…my body doesn’t need it.

.

So this morning I got up and did 35 mins of cardio.  My inspiration came from Naomi.  My booty loved it!

.

Check out THIS website for some exercises to become a bikini girl :)

.

What’s your favorite tree?  We’re going to plant some trees around the house soon.  I say we, we’re hiring people :)   I love palm trees but I don’t think they’d do so well in Indiana HA!

Monday, Bloody Monday

I never really liked U2. Actually it was just Bono that annoyed me. I get like that. The lead singer of Nickelback, Dave Matthews, and Anthony Kiedis from the Red Hot Chili Peppers all annoy me therefore I do not like them. Now one singer I REALLY love is Gavin Rossdale….ahhh. On my MP3 player one of his songs is #69, how convenient :)

I did my leg workout yesterday.  I was suppose to have a training class today that would have thrown off my schedule.  Only by a half an hour but i’ m a freak like that.  So I did shoulders today and it rocked!  Of course I got up for EMC this morning and knocked out 40 mins.  It’s like I can’t wait to go to sleep to get up for cardio!  I love when I get like this.

.

I’m suppose to talk with the trainer tonight.  I know things are happening.  My feet look slimmer and my collar bone is more prominent.  Hey, you gotta start somewhere right?  My body doesn’t like losing from the places that really need it first.  Oh, I think my face is slimmer too so that is a plus.

.

Man, I can’t remember cooking when I didn’t know of this GENIUS idea.  I’m so glad I know about it now!

What does this song remind you of?  It reminds me of the skating rink or dances in middle school where I sat there watching other couples dance.  Yep, I was that girl.  If you could see pictures you’d know why :)

So why was I up at 6a doing cardio?  BECAUSE WHEN YOU’RE ON FIRE THAT IS WHAT YOU DO!  I’m taking this energy while I have it.  I did 50 mins and it felt great!  I’m waiting on a storm to pass and then i’m going to go and walk Boomer.

.

These women are over 35…what’s your excuse?  Age is only a number.  Sure things get wrinkly and saggy but that’s just the nature of being a human.  You don’t have to give up!  Plus there is botox now days :)

.

When you hear people talking about health etc…and they are SO clueless do you jump in?  This happened to me at Walmart this morning.  Yeah, Walmart, you can only guess what they looked like.  I kept my mouth shut.  Then when I bought my 11 dozens eggs I told the lady I like eggs and smiled.  She said, well they say cholesterol really doesn’t matter anymore.  I told her that I don’t eat the yolk.

Another good one

Here’s a workout I did Friday morning.  I just like posting them in case someone out there is getting bored and needs something to do.  I look at other blogger’s routines and LOVE doing them!

5.0 is getting too easy and almost hurting my knees.  Mike told me that would happen.  Intervals are the best in my opinion.  They give me the confidence to get faster.  Some are going for distance and that’s great.  To each their own.

.

I hope you’re having a good weekend!

Do you like intervals?

What’s your state or city known for?  I’d say Peyton Manning or the Colts ;) and the Indy 500!
